Ways to Get Involved

The Parish of St. Cecilia-St. Gabriel is growing, which means there’s greater need than ever for parishioners to share their time and talents in service of the community. All volunteers must receive Safe Environments training. You can sign up for that HERE. Below are some great ways to get involved. Please contact the parish office to learn more.

  1. Altar Guild – members of the altar guild take care of the sacred linens that we use at Mass, ensuring that they are clean and ironed. This doesn’t require a large time commitment and the work can be done at home.
  2. Flower Guild – if you are creative and like to make floral arrangements, the flower guild serves the parish by making the sanctuaries of our churches more beautiful. If you don’t know how to make floral arrangements but would like to learn how, we’d be happy to teach you.
  3. Reader – reading the Sacred Scriptures at Mass is an important ministry in any parish. If you are comfortable reading in public, consider joining the regular rotation of those who read at Mass.
  4. Hospitality Ministry – this is one of the best ways to get to know other members of our parish, and it is not a big time commitment. Hospitality Ministers act as greeters, hand out bulletins, and make sure the pews are left clean and in good shape when Mass has ended. Hospitality members can also volunteer to help with our monthly coffee & donuts social after the 9am Mass.
  5. Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion – these ministers participate in one of the most important and ancient acts of Christian charity, which is to visit the sick and homebound with Holy Communion. Such visits remind those who cannot join the community in person for Sunday worship that they remain an important part of our parish.
